FLEISCHMANN Diesel locomotives DCC SOUND 112 303-2, DR art. 721086

In 1972, the Deutsche Reichsbahn equipped three locomotives, Class 110, with a 1,200 hp diesel engine, which later proved successful in express train service. As with other components, the DR adjusted the hydrodynamic drive accordingly. Between 1981 and 1990, further conversions (on about 500 locomotives) to 1,200 hp (883 kW) in the Raw Stendal were carried out using the 12 KVD 18/21 AL-4 and AL-5 engines. These locomotives were designated Class 112.
